Craig StoltzCraig Stolz

Founder, Web2.0h…Really?

Founder, Stoltz Digital Strategies

Former Editorial Director, Revolution Health

Craig Stoltz, a 20-year veteran of the media industry, helps clients engage audiences using social media and other digital approaches. His specialty is helping smart people use social media without looking foolish.

Stoltz edited the Washington Post’s award-winning health section for six years. He later served as editorial director of Revolution Health, AOL founder Steve Case’s consumer social web startup. As the Washington Post’s first consumer technology editor he led early newsroom innovations including an “underground” e-mail newsletter, a branded multimedia franchise devoted to food and health, and the paper’s first print/digital co-publication.

As a consultant he launched the beta of PBS Engage, the public TV network’s signature social media initiative. He’s developed strategic communications plans for professional groups, small and large businesses and non-profits. Sometimes they include social media. Sometimes they don’t.

He has spoken about social media to the Consumer Electronics Association, the American Medical Association, the Health 2.0 Conference, the Center for Information Therapy Annual Conference, the NVision Future of Journalism Meeting, the George Washington University School of Public Health, the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the National Association of Science Writers.

Stoltz’s blog, Web 2.0h. . .Really?, offers a skeptical view of Web 2.0. It was somewhat inexplicably named one of Time.com’s Top 25 blogs.

He lives in Bethesda with his African Grey parrot Koko, his wife and two teenage boys.

Craig will “Set the Stage”.
